Palestinian journalist Shadi Abu Sido was detained in the notorious Sde Teiman prison for over 100 days. “Sde Teiman is a cemetery of the living, with torture no one can imagine, not even the human mind,” he told CPJ. In CPJ’s new special report, we collected 59 testimonies from Palestinian journalists released from Israeli custody since October 7, 2023. As President #Trump convenes his first Board of Peace meeting on February 19, words must be matched with action. In August, Trump expressed support for unimpeded journalist access to #Gaza and this week pledged to lift ‘a lot of bans’ in Phase 2 of the ceasefire.
