📢 The resolution on Gaza adopted by the UN Security Council fails to include key human rights demands including respect for international law and ending Israel’s genocide, apartheid and occupation. 📢 It also fails to call for an end to Israel’s unlawful blockade on Gaza, restrictions on UNRWA or to recognize Israel’s obligations as the occupying power to ensure Palestinians have access to essential supplies & humanitarian aid, shifting responsibility onto the international community. 📢 Crucially, the resolution also makes no mention of accountability for int’l crimes or justice & reparations for victims. Any plan that ignores human rights & root causes of injustice will fail to deliver a just and sustainable peace.
