Sending 6 E-3 Sentry AWACS aircraft to Iran may seem insane, but note Iran is a vast country. For coverage of south coast & west border, US needs at least 4 E-3s roughly shown by four 120,000 sq mile circles (per NATO description of E-3 coverage area).

There are ~350,000 Christians in Qatar. All of them migrant workers, none of them a citizen.
There are ~380,000 Christians in Israel. ~184,000 are citizens with full equal rights (like me), and ~200,000 are migrant workers.
