X has been named one of the 30 Most Iconic Companies in Internet History by The Webby Awards!
From pioneering real-time global conversation to becoming the engine of culture—X is where news breaks first, fandoms thrive, and the world’s most powerful voices connect.
Prediction: In less than 90 days, all channels that we thought were safe from spam & automation will be so flooded that they will no longer be usable in any functional sense: iMessage, phone calls, Gmail.
And we will have no way to stop it.
For those unaware, SpaceX has already shifted focus to building a self-growing city on the Moon, as we can potentially achieve that in less than 10 years, whereas Mars would take 20+ years.
The mission of SpaceX remains the same: extend consciousness and life as we know it to the stars.
It is only possible to travel to Mars when the planets align every 26 months (six month trip time), whereas we can launch to the Moon every 10 days (2 day trip time). This means we can iterate much faster to complete a Moon city than a Mars city.
That said, SpaceX will also strive to build a Mars city and begin doing so in about 5 to 7 years, but the overriding priority is securing the future of civilization and the Moon is faster.
I wanted to build a video editor into X like other social apps. I had expected it to take 3 months of engineering time.
Today I decided to try prototyping it myself. I one-shotted a full in-browser editor in 15 minutes.
It felt like I could replace the entire Adobe software suite by Sunday.
Then I asked myself: will videos even be edited manually in 3 months? Chatbots can do reasonably well now.
Product development is getting extraordinarily difficult when the world is changing so fast.
We’re now at this point:
Each time I hand draft an email in Gmail or edit a spreadsheet directly in Excel, I wonder jf it’s the last time I do it for the rest of my life.
Officially launching X API Pay-Per-Use
The core of X developers are indie builders, early stage products, startups, and hobbyists
It’s time to open up our X API ecosystem and instill a new wave of next generation X apps
We’re so back. developer.x.com
We're launching something new: Collaborative Notes
The idea: when you request a note, AI drafts one — then the community refines it together through ratings and suggestions. You can watch it get better in real time.
It’s a whole new way for the public to work with AI — and each other — to make information more accurate. And a whole new way to contribute to Community Notes.
For now, only requests from Top Writers on English-language posts generate Collaborative Notes, and you must have 2+ Writing Impact to make suggestions. We plan to expand that & shape the experience based on your feedback.
As usual, it’s open-source: communitynotes.x.com/guide/c…
You thought the fun was over? 🏈
This weekend, video takes center stage on the timeline.
We’re awarding $1M, $500K, and $250K to the top three videos about @grok, created with Imagine 1.0.
I’m hiring several designers on X to help connect humanity.
Who are the best designers or design engineers you know? I’d love to chat.
Must embrace AI tooling and code. If you live in Figma mocks all day, not a good fit.
Understanding requires imagining. Grok Imagine lets you bring what’s in your brain to life, and now it’s available via the world’s fastest, and most powerful video API: x.ai/news/grok-imagine-api
Try it out and let your Imagination run wild.
Build-in-public is probably the wrong move for startups, where the attention they command is finite
Ironically, Build-in-public may be best for established companies: you can pre-announce features, get early feedback from the userbase, identify all edge-cases, get buy-in from the community, and then finally: Launch with precision
Thanks for all the feedback on these. We'll constantly be refining the packs. We have around 1000 today and we're hoping to grow it to 3000 in the next few months.
