Terror attacks in Lviv: the name of the fallen police officer has been revealed
Shortly before midnight, police received a report of an alleged break-in at a store in the city center.
When a patrol arrived, the first improvised explosive device detonated. A few minutes later, a second crew arrived — and another explosion occurred.
The prosecutor’s office has opened a case under the article on a terrorist act with grave consequences.
Twenty-three-year-old police sergeant Viktoriia Shpylka was killed. Twenty-four people were injured.
Viktoriia was originally from Volyn, later lived in Kherson, graduated from Lviv State University of Internal Affairs, and served in the patrol police. Last autumn, she got married — her husband is also a patrol officer.
Law enforcement does not rule out the possibility that Russian intelligence services may be behind the attack.
