The Prophet said:
"The nations will soon summon one another to attack you as people invite others to share their dish."
The companions asked, “Will that be because we are few?”
He replied, “No, you will be many, but you will be like foam on the sea…"
(Abu Dawud)
This hadith speaks about weakness, division, and outside powers competing over the Ummah.
*Love of dunya & fear of death (Wahn)
In the same narration, the Prophet explained the weakness would come from wahn, love of worldly life and fear of death, which removes strength and unity.
*Trials and arrogance of power
The Qur’an repeatedly reminds that tyrants and arrogant powers rise and fall:
“And such days We alternate among the people…” (Qur’an 3:140)
Empires believing they can dominate entire regions is not new in history. Islam teaches that arrogance (istikbār) precedes downfall.
Islamic teachings emphasize:
Unity of the Ummah
Strength through faith and justice
Patience during trials
Trust that oppression is temporary.
