The most ignorant person on television, and that’s saying a lot.
Apparently, to the Supreme Court majority, a wide open border, 100,000 fentanyl deaths a year, the disinheritance of the American working class through globalization, seniors not being able to afford their meds, and relying on China to produce the antidote to China's aggression against us aren't emergencies. Because President Trump's tariffs directly redressed all of those crises.
Let’s not mince words: The Supreme Court has betrayed the American people—and handed a big win to China.

The progressive legal strategy in a nutshell: instead of placing structural limitations on the executive branch, supervise its motives so that you can declare the same powers barred to Trump but constitutional when exercised for purposes you like.
If I’d been a justice I would have spent less time on the question of whether tariffs fall under the scope of IEEPA and more on the fact that the “emergencies” Trump is invoking are transparently fake, to the point that he doesn’t even pretend to believe in them.
